We made a collection of individual video classes to show you how to make each element on this cake and a video class on how to cover a cake with fondant. All are included at the end of this article.
You will learn how to prepare fondant, roll it out and cover a cake with it. This is a great class for beginners because we use a 3 inch circle cutter to cut out all the decorations. This helps to give uniformity to the decorations.

In this lesson we are using a 6 inch styrofoam cake dummie for practice. You can use a cake dummie or a real cake for your project. If you use a styrofoam cake dummie, apply a thin layer of piping gel with a large paint brush. If you are using a real cake, you only want to cover the top and outside of the cake with a very thin coat of frosting to help the fondant stick to the cake.
